POPEY's Rural Residency Project

The Rural Residency Project was designed to build capacity for literacy teaching and learning in rural school districts by providing educators with continual support that can build on previous learning and work within their local context. These projects look different in each district based on the district’s needs and K-3 literacy goals. Our support often includes professional learning, collaborative planning, and working in classrooms with educators.

 

POPEY’s support includes:

  • Three days to work with educators three times through the school year (9 days total)      
  • Ongoing virtual support in between residency weeks
