POPEY’s fifth annual conference was held in Richmond on March 5th, and was a
smashing success! Over 70 members of our District Partner network came together for
a morning of reconnecting, networking and collaboration.
We were then joined by an additional 90 educators from around the province, as our
Keynote Speaker, Dr. Marcia Tate, took the stage to share 20 brain-based
engagement strategies. She had everyone moving, talking, thinking, and laughing as
we all learned together.
We were also very fortunate to have Raffi and Kristin Wiens join us to speak about his
new online course for the Raffi Foundation for Child Honouring, and to lead us in an
impromptu version of “This Little Light of Mine”. Singing with Raffi was a bucket list
experience for many of us!
Also, Kira Reynolds, who is a Manager & Early Childhood Education Specialist from the
Early Learning Branch of the Ministry of Education, shared some Ministry updates on
the Early Learning Framework .
A big thank you to all of our speakers & special guests!
We are already planning for our 2020 conference, and will share details soon, so you
can save the date.
